I'm James, Founder of Surrey Spaces, and a qualified carpenter with over 15 years of experience.
Surrey Spaces was founded with a simple goal: to help homeowners unlock the full potential of their gardens by creating beautifully crafted garden rooms that add both space and value to your property.
Whether you're looking for a home office, gym, studio, entertainment space or somewhere to simply relax, every garden room is built to suit your lifestyle. I personally oversee every project from design through to completion, ensuring every detail meets the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Alongside a small team of skilled carpenters, I build each garden room myself, and I also specialise in the bespoke joinery that transforms a great space into something truly unique. From fitted kitchens and bars to media walls, storage solutions and custom cabinetry, every interior can be tailored to your exact requirements.
To make the process as seamless as possible, Surrey Spaces can also take care of your surrounding garden and landscaping. Working alongside my brother Ryan, who runs our family landscaping business, Casteldine Landscapes, we can deliver a complete outdoor transformation, from the garden room itself to patios, planting, pathways and the finishing touches, giving you one trusted team from start to finish.

In most cases, no. Garden rooms usually fall under permitted development. We'll check your plot against the rules on the first visit and let you know honestly if you need to apply.
Most rooms take around 3-6 weeks to build, depending on size, spec and groundworks. We'll give you a clear schedule with the quote.
Everything: design, foundations, structure, insulation, cladding, windows and doors, electrics, decoration and clean-up. No surprise extras.
Yes. Every room is fully insulated (floor, walls, roof) with optional extras for A/C / heating unit so it's usable in January the same as July.
Yes, through qualified electricians and plumbers we've worked with for years. All certified and signed off.
10-year structural warranty as standard. Fixtures and fittings carry their manufacturer warranties on top.
A small deposit to book the slot and order materials, then staged payments through the build. Never money up front for work not done.
Yes, Casteldine Landscapes can take care of this from fencing, decking, patios, planting. If you would like it all handled together, we'll cost it together.
